Folia de Reis (Epiphany) is a Portuguese religious festivity that was brought to Brazil in the 18th century. The Reisado (as the celebration is also known) is an event of unique beauty. The festivity celebrates the birth of Jesus, starting right after December 24th, and continues until January 6th. At the front of the procession stand people representing the three wise men from the East, wearing eye-catching clothes and carrying gifts to baby Jesus.
